Fake Discord Update Link Steals Passwords

A fake website is pretending to be a Discord update page to trick users into giving away their login details. Kids and teens who use Discord are at risk if they click this link.

What to do: Warn your children never to click links claiming to be Discord updates unless they come directly from the official Discord app or discord.com, and check that their Discord password is unique and not reused elsewhere.

What this means for your family

If your kids use Discord, they need to know that scammers are creating fake update pages to steal passwords. Make sure they only click update links that come directly from the Discord app itself or the official discord.com website, and remind them never to enter their password on any link someone sends them. A unique, strong password for Discord keeps them safer if they accidentally visit a fake site.
