Fake Instagram Password Recovery Site Stealing Logins

A fake website is pretending to help recover Instagram passwords but is actually stealing login credentials. Kids and teens who use Instagram could be tricked into handing over their account details.

What to do: Warn your children never to enter their Instagram password on any site other than the official instagram.com, and remind them to come to you if they ever get a link claiming to help recover or fix their account.

What this means for your family

If your kids use Instagram, they might click a fake password-recovery link that looks real but actually steals their login information. Teach them to only enter passwords directly on Instagram's official app or website, and have them come to you immediately if they get suspicious links about account problems—this protects their photos, messages, and personal information from being taken over.
