Fake Steam Workshop mod site stealing login info

A fake website is pretending to be Steam's Workshop mod-sharing page to trick users into handing over their account credentials. Kids who download game mods are a common target for these scams.

What to do: Tell your children never to log in to Steam (or any game account) from a link shared in a game chat, Discord, or mod site — always go directly to store.steampowered.com instead.

What this means for your family

If your kids play games and download mods, they need to know: scammers are making fake websites that look like Steam to steal their gaming passwords. The safest rule is simple—never log in through a link someone sends them, even if it looks official. Always type the real website address directly into the browser yourself.
